This course teaches teams how to use Lean Six Sigma Methodology to solve a problem or make improvements. The training uses classroom instruction and activities, plus ongoing coaching, centered on a project, to support a team’s improvement goals. Teams must utilize a project that will produce a measurable and sustainable improvement of one or more financial, operational or quality outcomes. Using Lean concepts and tools, participants will define their project scope, analyze options for improvement, implement improvements, manage change and communication, measure the impact of their efforts, and learn tactics to sustain their improvements over time.
The course consists of three, 4-hour classroom sessions (each approximately 3 weeks apart) of improvement theory and hands-on application exercises, plus available ongoing coaching. The program is offered three times per year; winter, spring and fall. Using the DMAIC framework, concepts and tolls, participants will define their project scope, analyze options for improvement, implement interventions, manage communication and change, measure the impact of their efforts and learn tactics to sustain the results over time. This results in a team that can manage and implement their own improvements as evidenced by their initial successful project showing a measurable and sustainable outcome.
